YOUR GIFT TO PLANNED PARENTHOOD OF CONNECTICUT MAKES THE
DIFFERENCE
Take a moment to read about the programs and people who are helped
by your financial support:Planned Parenthood of Connecticut's
teen peer education program is called S.T.A.R.S., Students
Teaching About Responsible Sexuality. The overall purpose of
the program is to effectively impact the development of healthy
sexuality among youth. Through this program, students are trained
when and how to make helpful referrals and how to respond to
questions from their peers and others in their community.
Real Life, Real Talk: Raising teens today is different, and some say
more difficult, than it has been at any other time in history. The
need for increased communication is real. So is the need for
communities to take a leadership role in helping families raise
healthy kids . . . physically, emotionally and sexually. Real Life
RealTalk, a bold new social marketing initiative of Planned
Parenthood both nationally and in Connecticut. The goal is simple: to promote open, honest and balanced talk about sex and health in
America.
Planned Parenthood of Connecticut can help you protect yourself
and your partners. We provide testing and treatment for sexually
transmitted infections. We also provide confidential and anonymous
HIV testing. All 18 PPC health centers offer free condoms -
just walk in and ask for them.
"I just want to say thank you for all your help financially in
the past year. It's been really rough, and without your
services and hospitality I could have been pregnant right now.
Though it's not much, I can pay partially for my birth control.
Thank you again." Patient Quote
"Planned Parenthood is a wonderful place. It's a place that
understands a female's side and willing to help when help is needed.
They talk as well as listen. Things were explained to me rather than
told to me. It helped me realize that there are things that need to
be thought about before making any drastic decisions, and they
helped me make all the right ones. Thank you Planned
Parenthood for saving my life." Patient Quote
Your support through
donations,
political work,
and volunteerism
is vitally important as we continue our rich and vibrant tradition
of protecting reproductive rights in Connecticut! For over 80 years,
Planned Parenthood of Connecticut has been here for the women and
men of our state. In 1965, thanks to the hard work of PPC pioneers,
the US Supreme Court legalized birth control and first defined the
Constitutional right to privacy, upon which Roe v Wade was later
based.
